How long until computers can in fact reason, adapt, think, problem solve, tell stories, and understand and create humor? These are generally all questions which computer scientists focusing on Artificial Intelligence BI programming and theory are asking themselves today. When does a machine, or computer become aware, aware of itself, thus alive, and thinking?

Much of this is philosophical, because of this that some ask the question back, frankly; are humans really thinking or merely responding to stimuli in a very predictable way?

Recently, there are some top scientists and computer engineers in the field suggesting that mankind in his search for a thinking computer, true intelligence, has moved inside the wrong direction, which a neural network, which will be described as a completely different configuration would be more appropriate, something much less dissimilar from what sort of Internet works where each point might do many calculations or different types.

As there are another group insisting that true artificial intelligence needs a chance to forget to be able to work properly so it doesn't exhibit schizophrenic behavior (that is observed incidentally), along with the capacity to get some things wrong.

Simply mimicking human expression, or responding using data bases of phrases is simply not thinking. Even CRM software which touts itself as being artificially intelligent driven isn't actually aware, it's not really thinking, even though it might pass the Turing Test; to be able to fool a person's into believing it is a real person these are talking too. And yet, I'd suggest a true thinking computer would be able to consider the reverse, and realize whether or not it really is speaking with a true human or speaking with another computer.

Perhaps in the future all those lines can be so blurred concerning make Turing Test irrelevant?

Indeed, there were entire chains of AI computers which talk with the other person in Internet Forums. It's like this is a conversation between 2 different people, however the dialogue is totally shallow, with out original thinking really, although some people might from the responses are interesting, some laughable, but humans too make stupid remarks often enough the other only has to surf Facebook for 5-minutes to find out that.

Will computers ever be in a position to think? Well, assuming you mean; the way humans think, the answer is yes, eventually.

Currently, this indicates the Turing Test has been achieved, however ask is the real test or threshold we should be considering. It is my thought that not only will AI become aware, but it'll out think humans by combining good all possible worlds, likewise modified humans, "transhumans" if you will, coupled to computer devices can do exactly the same, understanding that my buddies is only a a few time. So, please consider all this and think onto it.
